5 Fandom Friday: Five Characters I Would (and did!) Name My Kids After

I LOVE this week's topic for 5 Fandom Friday!I have two daughters and yes, they both have fandom names!

Before I had even become pregnant, I was chatting with a friend about what I would name a boy if I ever had children (I struggled to get pregnant; see one of my posts regarding this struggle here). My friend asked me what I would name a girl, and I was stumped. I had no idea! She asked me who my favorite female literary characters were, and it was just too hard to choose. However, I said, "But, you know, I love the name Lily. You know, Harry Potter's mom." And my friend said, "Lily Flanagan." And done. That was it. It was perfect.

After Lily, I didn't have any other girl name ideas. However, I had decided after Lily was born that if we had a second daughter, her middle name was going to be Anne - with an E, of course, for Anne of Green Gables. Our second daughter came, and we named her Aislin Anne.

Honestly, I can't remember where I read this name, but I absolutely fell in love with it and have used it in several short stories. Hopefully, Grayson will be featured in an upcoming novel!

Ok, yes, I am a HUGE Potterhead and I know that naming my child "Harry" is probably not the best idea. However, it's better than Severus, which, actually, is my first choice. :-D

This is from several fandoms, but the two that I am specifically thinking of are Legends of the Fall and Stardust. I love this name for a boy, but I'm pretty sure hubby would never agree to this. Sigh.

And, lastly, just as a fun note - I named a puppy Matchbox once. Yep, this was in the nineties when my fandom for Rob Thomas was at its highest.
