Farewell to Middle-earth

I was so excited when my girl Megan asked me to write a farewell piece about J.R.R. Tolkien for her blog, The Nerdy Girlie. It's hard to say goodbye to something that has had such a huge impact on my writing, and also to something that I am such a huge fangirl for! I loved writing this piece and, as nerdy as it may sound, I feel at peace with the final installment of Jackson's vision of Middle-earth Of course, I have been warned that I will be a hysterical, sobbing mess at the ending. I have no doubt.

Sadly, Peter Jackson has stated that he would consider journeying into Middle-earth again, the Tolkien estate owns the rights to Tolkien's mythology, The Silmarillion, so Jackson would not be able to make a film.

But a girl can hope, right?

In addition to my post, another friend of mine (and Megan's), wrote about her incredible fan experience of being able to attend the premiere in Hollywood. I would have loved to have been there! However, reading Noel's account is almost like I was.

Almost.
